#3c, 1848 1p Orange red, worn impression on grayish paper, a rare vertical strip of four still showing some detail in the Queen's head and fairly distinct background lines, full to large margins all round except extreme tip of top right corner just encroached upon, tiny tear in margin at left just impinges on frame of 2nd stamp, some transparent grease staining, overall a very fine and remarkable multiple representing the right hand vertical row of the sheet; 1972 PF certificate (S.G. #17; 1,700+).

#5a, 1848 1p Red orange, early intermediate impression on bluish paper, an outstanding used horizontal pair, a beautiful still sharp impression demonstrative of the deepness of engraving with only the slightest hint of wear, full to large margins and double ring numeral cancellations which leave the heads practically clear, barely discernible crease across top of stamps, nevertheless an extremely fine and choice multiple of these nowadays elusive printings; 1960 R.P.S. certificate (S.G. #10; 4,000+).

#6b, 1848 2p Blue early worn impression on bluish paper, very rare used horizontal strip of three being the lower row of the sheet, very clear accomplished printing for this primitive classic, margins full to touched due to slightly rough separation, light but distinct "14" in double circle cancellation, light diagonal crease at right and middle stamp has short vertical crease which has just cracked the paper, an impressive multiple; clear 1958 PF certificate; ex-Palace collection (S.G. #22; 2,250+).

#17, 1859 2p Blue, lithographed by Dardenne, a striking mint horizontal pair, right stamp shows two printing flaws comprised of colored dots, ample to large margins and practically full o.g., there are some small red ink marks at lower right which could be construed as cancellation ink, and the reverse shows manuscript offset, tiny thin spot of no importance, very fine and fresh, probably taken off a letter uncancelled, very rare multiple ex-Dale Lichtenstein (S.G. #43a; 3,200+ as unused).
